Broadband Internet Providers in Lincoln Hills

Psyberware SBC Starstream Surewest

Lincoln Hills now has four major service providers for broadband (high-speed) internet service. There is a wide range of technologies employed, such as cable, DSL (phone), and microwave antenna. Which is the right one for you and your computing needs? Come to this meeting to hear these four companies: Starstream, ATT/SBC, Psyberware and SureWest present their features and benefits, including speed, pricing, multiple computers and length of plan.

If you are contemplating changing from your updated dialup connection, or if you already have broadband and just want to know what options you have, this is the meeting for you. Nearly 70% of American households will have broadband by the end of the year. Make sure you are getting the plan that is right for you.

This will also be the annual meeting for the PC Club so the first 15-20 minutes of the meeting will be devoted to required events, including the election of officers for the coming year.

Following from the Wednesday night presentation on Broadband in Lincoln Hills, the four major providers will each have a technical representative available to answer your technical questions about your current service or about possible future service.

Ask The Tech

This is an informal Q&A session which allows Club members to ask technical questions of experts in the computer repair field.  Questions are accepted from any level of experience, from beginner to very experienced.  Moderators will vary and be from local businesses specializing in computer repair.  So jot down your questions, come to the meeting and be prepared to get some straight answers and recommendations.

President's Message

Dear Club Members, Ron

One of the most important tasks of our Lincoln Hills PC Computer Club is now upon us. I want to remind each of our members to attend the May 10th Annual Meeting.  It will commence promptly at 6:30pm in the ORCHARD CREEK GRAND BALLROOM.   Get there early for a good seat!  A special gift will be given at the close of the evening’s program to all who attend!

The Order of business is as follows:

o The President will make a few opening remarks and present the current members of the Board.

o At this point the President will open the Annual Business meeting for the purposes of electing our Officers; reporting on our fiscal status and voting for the revised By Laws of the Club.

o Our Treasurer will then give a brief report on our fiscal status.

o Our Nominating Chairman will then present the proposed Officers for 2006-07 as endorsed by the Club Board at their April meeting.  (CLICK HERE to see the list of those nominees on this web site so you will be prepared to vote).  Nominations will be invited from the floor, as well.  However, to nominate someone from the floor that person must be present and state their willingness to serve as well as be a member in good standing of the Club.  The Chairman of Nominations will close the nominations and call for a Motion and second to elect the nominees.

o The next and last order of business will be regarding the vote required to accept our revised By Laws of the Club as now approved by our Association.  (The revised By Laws are listed on this web site CLICK HERE and therefore comply with the posting requirements of the Association as well as our Club By Laws) These changes have come about to accommodate the continuing growth of both the PC and MAC memberships within the existing club.  Both Groups will continue to support each other in various functions but will be independently administered for easier operations.

o A motion will be called to close the Annual meeting.

A final reminder to all: This meeting is open to all homeowners, as it will address a topic of general interest.  It has been the practice of our club to present a program of community wide interest at least once a year.  We expect a full house.
